Project Description

The Rookwood Weir Project increases the storage capacity of water on the Fitzroy River to provide an additional 64,400 ML of high and medium reliability water to support the agricultural, urban and industrial needs of the region.

The projected involved construction of a 210m long new weir asset in the Fitzroy River which included complex concrete structures delivered under a collaborative contracting model (Partial Price Competitive Alliance).

Services Provided

  • Provide strategic commercial and procurement advice.
  • Establish project governance and controls approach.
  • Provid ongoing project governance and leadership through representation on the Alliance Leadership team from commencement through until completion of the project.
  • Provide transaction management services, develop project delivery strategies, lead market engagement processes and contract management activities.
  • Prepare the Strategic Procurement Plan (SPP) and recommendations.
  • Lead the transaction phase of the project through Expression of Interest (EOI), Alliance Development Phase (AD Phase) and execution of the Project Alliance Agreement (PAA).
  • Develop the project Reference Estimate against which the market’s prices were evaluated.
  • Manage the States first aquatic offset site at the Fitzroy barrage throughout design, delivery and commissioning.
